The Curitiba Pre-Moot aims to offer a realistic impression of the pleadings in Vienna, since its structure will consist of general and elimination rounds, culminating in the final argument and a final ranking. The Pre-Moot’s particular feature is that it aims to simulate the precise format of the Vis Moot held in Vienna.
The Pre-Moot will start on Friday, March 06th, 2015, when the general rounds will occur. On the following day, the elimination rounds and the finals will take place, as well the Farewell Party.
Last but not least, the Curitiba Pre-Moot offers great and intimate networking opportunities with mooties, arbitrators and practitioners of international arbitration and trade law.
The hearings will take place at the facilities of Universidade Positivo.
On the first day, March 06th, each team will plead as Claimant and Respondent in a simulation of what will be the general rounds in Vienna. At the end of the day, the teams will be ranked according to the points accumulated in its pleadings. On March 07th, Saturday, knock-out rounds will lead up to the finals.
The Arbitral Tribunals will be composed of the greatest names of Brazilian and international arbitration, experienced coaches, practitioners, professors and former Willem C. Vis Moot participants. The arbitrators will score the teams, as well as will give the most appropriate feedbacks in order to help improving the participant’s performance. The main goal of the Pre-Moot is to foster the learning process inherent to the Moot’s dynamics.
Universidade Positivo is looking forward to welcoming you in Curitiba!
